One of Hull’s most popular bands will return, while theatre and more art rounds out another cracking weekend of activities in the city.
Here are 5 things to do in Hull this weekend.
1. 2020 Open Exhibition

Saturday 15 February to Sunday 26 April
The 53rd exhibition celebrates some of the best artistic talent in the region, featuring more than 370 artworks including paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics, textiles and film produced by local amateur and professional artists.

'Hump day'? More like 'rocking the research day'!
Lots of research and prep happening for our upcoming display 'Exploring Islamic Art: helmets' (starts 10/02).

This Hull outfit have cemented themselves as one of the city’s top bands over the past few years with day and night airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music, including an on-air interview with Fearne Cotton.
They have played headline shows around the UK, with support slots including The Pigeon Detectives, Little Comets and Skaters. Don’t miss this hometown outing. Get tickets here.
5. Heaven’s Gate
Hull Truck Theatre
Friday 14 February 8pm
An imagining of the final hour of four members of the real life UFO-theistic group. As they prepare for their “Graduation” to the “Kingdom of Heaven” initially the excitement is palpable, but soon the cracks start to appear. Is Heavenly Father really waiting for them on a Spaceship? Is the Earth actually about to be recycled? Was castration mandatory or not? Is Turkey Potpie an underwhelming last supper?
Cosmic Collective Theatre presents Heaven's Gate @HullTruck Theatre 14 February.
