Celebrating community heroes with MKM

Our new campaign to commend Hull’s finest.

Do you know someone who goes above and beyond to help their friends, colleagues and communities? We’re launching a campaign today with our latest major partner, MKM, to recognise Hull’s Community Heroes.

Nominations for the prize can be made online, and will be considered by a panel of representatives from Hull 2017 and MKM. 10 lucky winners will then receive free tickets to Rod Stewart live in concert at the KC Stadium on Tuesday June 14, 2016.

This 25,000-ticket event is all but sold out now, so these truly are golden tickets for Hull’s brightest stars. MKM are celebrating their 21st anniversary in 2016, and have put this Rod Stewart gig together as a way of thanking the people of Hull for their support and custom. The proceeds from the event will go to The Daisy Appeal and Holy Trinity Church – two Hull charities who are heroes themselves.

David Kilburn is Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of MKM, who told us:

‘The people here are a huge part of what makes Hull a great place and the Community Heroes nominations will encourage their much-deserved recognition. The concert is a coup for Hull. Sharing it with some of the unsung heroes in our community in celebration of their generosity of spirit seems a fitting way to celebrate both our anniversary and the exciting plans that lay ahead for Hull 2017.’

The Community Heroes competition kicks off our partnership with MKM, who become a major partner with Hull 2017 today. Chief Executive Officer and Director at Hull 2017, Martin Green, added:

‘It is a pleasure to welcome MKM on board. I look forward to working with the team as a major partner of Hull UK City of Culture 2017, as MKM is a great example of a successful business that is rooted in Hull, with branches across the country. This partnership is a sign of great confidence, not only in the people and city of Hull, but also in the enduring legacy of Hull UK City of Culture 2017.’

You can nominate your Communities Heroes from today – Friday April 29, 2016. Entries close on Friday May 20 so get your entries in sharpish at heroes.mkmbs.co.uk
