Challenge Hull Week #4 – ‘Recycled Rhythm’

Monday 23 January 2017

It’s week #4 of Challenge Hull and we’ve seen some fantastic participation across the city and beyond so far! This week the children from Gillshill Primary School are challenging you to explore the idea of recycling your rubbish to make music.

‘Recycled Rhythm’

Do:

Create a musical instrument using anything from your recycling. You could even create a band with your family and friends and make a music video!

If you have a little more time:

Make your challenge into an activity with your family, friends, colleagues or classmates. Make a different instrument each and play a tune together. If you need some inspiration, check out these percussionists.

Think:

What was it like to make something useful out of rubbish? Did it make you think about what you throw away?

Share:

Send us a picture of your instrument or a video of you playing it within the next seven days.

Use #ChallengeHull and share your challenge on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can then tag Hull 2017 (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and Gillshill Primary School (on Twitter) as we’d love to see the results.

Check our social media channels or our website here next Monday for your next challenge. And don’t forget to share all the challenges (including your own) with others to encourage them to get stuck in too.

Good luck!
