Creative Communities Programme – Application Window Now Open

Now’s the time – send in your application for our Creative Communities Programme.

Do you have an incredible creative idea, but need a bit of cash to get it off the ground? The Hull 2017 Creative Communities Programme is now open for applications, offering grants of between £300 and £10,000 for projects that will become part of Hull’s year as UK City of Culture in 2017. Don’t hang about though; the application deadline is the 16 May 2016.

Just like the rest of our year-long programme, these funded projects need to celebrate arts and culture. We’re looking for projects that share original voices from Hull and reflect the defiant, fiercely independent spirit of our city. Projects should be transformational, creating unforgettable memories for everyone who takes part whilst creating links between Hull’s diverse communities.

Find out more information and start your application.

For some really specific advice about the programme you can download our guidance notes. You can also download a larger-format version with no graphics.

To help us short-list which projects are suitable for funding, we have four essential criteria that every application should meet. All of the Creative Communities projects need to:

  • Celebrate arts and culture
  • Be open to all
  • Engage people and communities in Hull
  • Be more than the every day

So if you’ve got an idea that fits into those categories, you can start your application today. You can also save your application and go back to it at any time – you don’t have to do it in one go!

Anyone from the UK can apply for funding, and there’s plenty of support available during the process. We’re heading out on the road during April and May with our community roadshows, and a member of our team will be there at every event to give advice and guidance on the Creative Communities Programme.

We have set up a Facebook page where you and other people applying for the Creative Communities Programme can connect. If you’re looking to make connections and find collaboration opportunities for your project, this is the place to go. You can share your requirements and look out for artists and community groups who are interested in collaborating. This group is not monitored or administered by the Hull 2017 team. www.facebook.com/hull2017creativecommunities
