INTERNATIONAL HANSE DAY

Join in some medieval merriment, celebrating Hull’s past and present connection with the Hanseatic League in a new location in Trinity Square.

GROW FESTIVAL

Hull Truck Theatre
For artists, Grow 2018 is centred around learning and development. Try something new, make connections and inspire your collaborative choices. For audiences, it’s your chance to influence the making of new performance.

CLANGERS, BAGPUSS & CO

Ferens Art Gallery
Opening this weekend come down to Ferens and meet Bagpuss, see the Soup Dragon and behold Noggin the Nog. Oliver Postgate’s voice and Peter Firmin’s puppets shaped the childhood memories of millions since they started collaborating in the 1950s. As well as telling the story of Bagpuss and The Clangers, the exhibition goes behind the scenes of their other creations; Pogles Wood, Noggin the Nog and Ivor the Engine. The exhibition includes original puppets, sets and filming equipment.

THE WOLDS WAY RUN

Queens Gardens

Come and ogle at MG, sports and classic cars at the Wolds Way Run. At the start of the circular tour, there will be specially reserved parking for 100 cars around the Rose Bowl fountain in Queen’s Gardens. The finish is in Wellington Street, near to the Fruit Market and Hull’s modern, vibrant and unique culture quarter.

BRIDGET CHRISTIE: WHAT NOW?

17 May 2018, 7:30pm (£16 – £18)

Hull Truck Theatre

This new show from multi-award winning member of the Metropolitan Liberal Elite, and star of her own Netflix special, is for you. Join Bridget (Room 101, Have I Got News for You, Harry Hill’s Alien Fun Capsule) for a night of hope and despair.
