Film: Pupils in Hull share their Pipe Dreams

School children create sculpture with artist Dom Heffer to represent their future ambitions.

Since January this year pupils from Endike Academy, Ainthorpe Primary School and Wold Academy have been working with artist Dom Heffer on Pipe Dreams, a project which is part our No Limits learning programme.

Dom took over classes at each of the schools where he was met with children eager to share their hopes, dreams and ambitions for the future with him. They then spent their lesson time creating representations of these on pipe sculptures.

Last month all the children and their teachers came together for a special ceremony at Endike Academy to connect these sculptures to a 20ft central unit which has been made by Dom and his assistant artist, Steve Elliott. They called this sculpture the Dream-O-Matic.

The sculpture will be available for the public to view later this year. In the meantime, the pipes which form the sculpture will be displayed in the three schools.
