Relive The Big Malarkey Festival

Unmissable moments from Hull’s first children’s literature festival.

What happens when you bring together thousands of local children in a fantastical tented village for a week packed with storytelling, illustration, poetry, music and theatre? A whole lot of fun!

We kicked off this month with the spectacular Big Malarkey Festival in East Park, organised in collaboration with Hull Libraries with support from the James Reckitt Library Trust.

Featuring a week-long schools programme, after-school activities, the annual James Reckitt Hull Children’s Book Award and a ginormous weekend programme, the festival played host to some of the UK’s favourite children’s authors and illustrators alongside musicians and brilliant local talent.

Relive some of the magical moments from the week.
