Eclectic Christmas with Freedom Chorus – sign up now!

Freedom Chorus are recruiting singers to be part of their Eclectic Christmas concert, presented in partnership with Eclectic Music Orchestra, leading to concerts in Hull Minster on 7 and 8 December.

Rehearsals for this project, led by talented choir leader Ben Newton, commence with a launch on 29 September. Ben is a highly skilled musician and as a choral leader really knows how to get the best out of singers, so it’s wonderful to have him back in the leaders role once more. The programme includes an uplifting selection of diverse music on a seasonal theme interwoven with thrilling music from the Eclectic Windband and Orchestra.  It will be wonderful to be included as part of a larger programme of wintery music led by the dynamic leader of Eclectic Music, Daniel Thompson.

The schedule for chorus rehearsals is below – if you’re available for the majority of rehearsals and want to be involved, please email clare.drury@hullcc.gov.uk with your name and the phrase ‘Christmas Yes’ in the subject line.

  • Project launch on Sunday 29 September, 1:30-5:30pm.
  • Evening rehearsals 7-9pm on Mondays 7 and 21 October, 4, 11, 18 and 25 November,
  • 2 December.
  • Final rehearsal 7-9pm on Wednesday 4 December.
  • Performances on evenings of 7 and 8 December.

All singers are welcome. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
