Video: take a look inside the newly-renovated Ferens Art Gallery

The Ferens Art Gallery has just reopened after a massive refurbishment – and we couldn’t be happier to see the doors open again.

Home to one of the finest collections of art in the country, the Ferens recently underwent a £5.1m renovation to get it ready for 2017 and beyond. Recent additions to the collection include Pietro Lorenzetti’s 14th-century panel painting Christ Between Saint Paul and Saint Peter, while highlights for 2017 include Spencer Tunick’s Sea of Hull commission, five of Francis Bacon’s notorious ‘Screaming Popes’ and the Turner Prize.

We caught up with Curator of Art Kirsten Simister to find out why the Ferens Art Gallery is for everyone, plus some exhibitions to look out for in 2017.

The Ferens Art Gallery is free to attend and is open every day. Find out more about the Ferens Art Gallery and see what’s coming up here.
