Last week, hundreds of people packed into shopping centres, community spaces and school halls to witness a host of seriously entertaining performances right on their doorsteps.
Families huddled together under sleeping bags and pillows to experience Upswing Aerial’s breathtaking acrobatics and magical storytelling; Bransholme residents sang along with Shaun Ryder’s Black Grape; Tom Wells debuted a new, inflatable-filled theatre show and audiences fought back tears as 201 Dance Company told an emotionally-driven, hip-hop backed gender story.
