Have you made the trip from Hull to Rotterdam recently? Maybe you popped over to Belgium through Zeebrugge? If you have, chances are you travelled on a P&O Ferry from the Port of Hull.
Starting life as the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company back in the 1830s, P&O have come a long way from the steamships that first made them a household name. Now the newly refurbished Pride of York, the newest descendent in a long line of beloved ships, continues the daily crossings to the continent from its home in Hull.
P&O Heritage have a huge collection of photographs from the company’s 180 year history, giving us an insight into how life onboard has changed since the company was founded. This photographic history of engineering, fashion and design tells the story of travel, through the lens of this iconic company.
