The stages

This year the festival has expanded to 20 stages of live music, all showcasing a variety of musical talent from the city as well as touring bands from across the UK.

The University of Hull Main Stage is where you’ll find the bands who pull no punches when it comes to live shows. Meanwhile The Squarewaves stage brings a mix of electronic and dance artists, and the BBC Introducing stage will showcase some of the finest acts from the region.

Brand new for 2017, the Back to Ours stage will play host to some of the very best emerging bands from across the country, inviting some of the industry big hitters to come along and see for themselves the world class music scene in Hull.

The bands

Hull has undoubtedly one of the strongest unsigned music scenes in the country, with an abundance of diverse and creative talent, and over 200 bands hitting the stage during the course of the festival.

Headlining the festival are Hull’s own DIY punk rockers LIFE, who will bring the day to a close with politically astute air-punching anthems. Vulgarians, who have been flying the flag for Hull across the UK, will close the Back to Ours stage, and Counting Coins will bring the energy and gravitas with their festival ready ska music over on the Früit 2 stage.
