Born in Hull and now based in the south, Richie Culver has a flourishing career as a contemporary painter. Producing autobiographical work, his paintings on show now at Humber Street Gallery delve into the complex relationship between jobseeker and benefits supervisor, and what happens in between these encounters.
His work feels acutely British and deals with topics that are increasingly relevant in today’s world. We caught up with Richie to learn a little more about this exhibition.
You can see No one knows me like Dawn from the Jobcentre at Humber Street Gallery. The exhibition runs until Sun 27 May.
