Outdoor storytelling to spark the imagination
Remember, remember… to enter this ballot to be in with a chance of a Bonfire Night with a twist.
Hull theatre company Middle Child is running two unique storytelling sessions on Thursday 5 November, 2020, premiering new works by eight playwrights.
Our Futures is part of a series of national events called Signal Fires, and it looks like a unique way for a very limited number of lucky ticket-holders to get their socially-distanced theatre fix out in the open air.
Taking place at Humber Street Gallery’s rooftop bar, Our Futures showcases short plays, written during lockdown by:
- Maureen Lennon
- Nastazja Somers
- Luke Barnes
- Ellen Brammar
- Lydia Marchant
- Daniel Ward
- Rachael Abbey
- Tom Wells
Just 20 tickets are available for each one-hour session, at 5.30pm and 7.30pm, with four scripts read around a ‘fire’ installation on the gallery’s rooftop terrace.
As Middle Child says, on its Twitter feed: “Tickets are free, but verrrrrry limited, so we’re running a ballot to make it as fair as possible. Chuck your name in the hat here.”
Time to dig out your woolly hat! We're very excited to be taking part in #SignalFires with two wee performances of new work by eight writers, in Hull, on Bonfire Night 🔥🎇 https://t.co/svqGASUt0z pic.twitter.com/aA7DqoZEOd
