Humber Street Gallery, Hull’s newest contemporary art gallery, has been lit up with state of the art lighting from UK LED.
Over the past 7 years, we at UK LED Lighting have been involved in some impressive and award-winning lighting schemes around the world, including Kings Cross Station and Kings Cross Square, The Shangri-La Hotel at the Shard, London, the Hippodrome Leicester Square, and the opening ceremony of the Rio 2012 Olympics. Not to mention the stunning Linear Lighting that was supplied for Hull 2017’s opening installation, Made In Hull.
As most of our business is out of town it was a real honour to be involved in this project. Our brief from the Hull 2017 team was to design a lighting scheme that complimented the industrial feel of the building, providing lighting to enhance the gallery within a modern context. Working closely with David Sinclair we believe our attention to detail and the lighting we have been able to supply has greatly enhanced this stunning new addition to the art world in Hull and the surrounding region.
And as David Sinclair, Curator of Humber Street Gallery, put it: “Lighting plays a vital role in guiding visitors through their gallery experience, altering the mood of the exhibition space and drawing the eye to stunning artwork and sculptures. UK LED Lighting has done a great job – we are delighted with the look and feel of the gallery.”
