Dead of Night: Hull Horror Film Festival is back for a third year of chills and thrills, organised by Hull Independent Cinema and screening exclusively at Vue Cinema Hull. Dead of Night brings the very best new, classic and cult horror to Hull, opening with the musical zombie comedy ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE, the programme also includes a big screen showing of classic 80s gore-fest THE EVIL DEAD.
Sponsored by Greasy Fingers Rock ‘n’ Roll Barbershop , Dead of Night features four nights of the best cinematic scares new and old, from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 October 2018. Highlights are the Hull Premiere of ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE, as part of a high-school double-bill with 70s classic CARRIE; and a screening of the new horror film starring the legendary Nicholas Cage, the mesmerising, delirious and deranged MANDY.
Other brand new acclaimed films in the festival receiving their Hull Premieres include nightmarish UK psychological horror POSSUM. Closing the festival is ONE CUT OF THE DEAD, a marvellously inventive Japanese horror-comedy featuring an epic, 37-minute opening continuous single take and already a big audience favourite on the festival circuit.
Complementing the new material in the festival are some iconic classics and restorations, with big screen showings of cult classic THE EVIL DEAD, supernatural 70s shocker THE OMEN and Jeff Goldblum-starring creature-feature THE FLY.
Dead of Night Festival Director Damien Greco said, “Just when you thought the nightmare was over, we’re back from the grave and ready to party! Dead of Night is a brilliant opportunity to experience horror films how they should be seen, in the dark, with like-minded fans on a huge screen with great sound.
