Square Peg are working in collaboration with The Alternative Limb Project, Fly Girl Films, Kelly Knox and Omkaar Kotedia to bring to Hull an exhibition showcasing cutting edge prosthetic limbs, film, and photography.
The Alternative Limb project have worked throughout 2017 to design and build a new prosthetic arm for fashion model and disability activist, Kelly Knox.
There are often limited, and in many places zero options available to those of us who require adaptive clothing, equipment or prosthetics. Centre of Attention seeks to highlight the need for more affordable and fashionable adaptive clothing by showing the public exactly what can be achieved. This exhibition challenges perceptions of disability and encourages open conversations between disabled and non disabled communities.
The exhibition is taking place in Princes Quay shopping centre amongst other fashion retailers and is open every weekend in November for the public to visit. We will feature talks by Sophie Oliveira Barata and Kelly Knox.
If you have purchased a ticket for an event/activity at this venue through hull2017.co.uk, please do not contact the venue direct with enquiries for that purchase as they will be unable to help.
