Documentary focusing on the The Who’s first managers Kit Lambert and Chris Stamp. Seeking to make an underground film, aspiring directors Lambert and Stamp sought out a young and upcoming band that reflected the early ’60s youth culture to profile their rise to fame. They chose The Who, known at the time as the High Numbers, and quickly abandoned their filming to manage the band despite their inexperience.
Through extensive archive footage and interviews with surviving members Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend and Stamp, the feature chronicles the band’s rise and their key relationship with the two managers until they unceremoniously parted ways a decade later.
