I Am Mehdi Ahmadi is based on in-depth interviews with a Hull refugee. It tells the story of his journey from his home country to Hull, his reasons for leaving his home, the difficulties of his journey and his experiences of settling in a new community. The production includes drama, physical theatre, music and multi-media, and has a cast of experienced performers and Hull based refugees.

Inside a packing crate, inside a container, inside a boat – home is history, the future uncertain. In collaboration with Open Doors and Hull History Troupe, Hull Platform No.1 presents Middle Sea, a moment in a journey that too many have to make. “The Middle Sea”, a new play by Robert J Bell in association with Open Doors and Platform No.1, offers a glimpse inside a packing case in a container on a boat where home is history and the future uncertain…
