Susan Beaulah paints out in the open air, almost always surrounded by a group of onlookers. The remote and unspoilt fishing villages along the coast of Kerala, in South India, have been a source of inspiration for many years. The women cutting corn in Rajasthan, wayside traders in shacks by the roadside and the workers harvesting red spinach in Kerala enrich her vibrant oil paintings of rural scenes. All these scenes represent a way of life, close to nature, that we have lost in our more developed world.

Come and explore this spellbinding exhibition of 30 oil studies and 15 watercolour paintings. Sketch books and other support material will be on show, plus a film made in India about the artist. Susan Beaulah is also available to talk about her work in the gallery.
