Walk the stories of Hull’s wartime past with The Hull Blitz Trail.

Between 1939 and 1945 thousands of people across Hull were drawn into the Second World War, as soldiers, nurses, firefighters, evacuees, war workers and more. Eighty-six air raids on the city from June 1940 to March 1945 brought terror and tragedy home to thousands more.

Discover the story of the Hull Blitz through the people and places that experienced it, using a self-guided walking trail.

You can pick up a paper trail map from Visit Hull and East Yorkshire stands across the city, including in the Hull Museums and Hull Paragon Station, the POD at Hull Paragon Station and the City Hall Box Office. You can also download a PDF copy of the trail here, or access the trail on your smartphone using the IziTravel App.

The route is approximately 2 miles long and should take around 1.5-2 hours, depending on your walking pace and breaks.
