In the spirit of Hull UK City of Culture 2017 the Transforming the Humber Conference takes a different look at engagement in cultural activities. It focuses on the benefits it has for both employers and employees.

Their is music, but culture encompasses everything from the arts to sports and covers an age spectrum from youth to retirement.

You may recall the BBC series Maestro, where celebrities got to conduct a symphony orchestra. You may have followed the series in which Gareth Malone created workplace choirs and the Military Wives Choir. Transforming the Humber are delighted to have the support of the Hull City Junior Youth Orchestra and the Beverley Male Voice Choir. Together you will have your first lesson in conducting and get the chance to conduct the orchestra. You, the audience, will become a choir. The conference aims to illustrate how participation develops skills and talents that people can bring to their employment and add to personal well-being.
