This is an opportunity for beginners and improvers who want to gain confidence and practical skills in figure drawing. You will work from a life model, learning to draw accurately and in proportion with the support of a trained fine art tutor.
You will work with a group of fellow learners in a well-equipped classroom, tutored through a series of exercises aimed at improving your observational skills and understanding body proportions. Along with having an opportunity to work on easels and complete both long and short poses on the standing, seated, and prone figure. The poses will be nude and some may include draped cloth.
You will work in a friendly and non-threatening environment, the focus being on your enjoyment of this experience. You may use the basic drawing materials provided and you are also welcome to bring in your own painting and drawing equipment. Instruction will be given on using an easel safely. You may wish to bring a camera to record the poses.
