Greenpower Street Race

HULL CITY CENTRE

3 May 2020

Family Friendly

This event has been postponed until further notice

Greenpower Education Trust, in collaboration with Hull City Council, has taken the difficult decision to postpone the Hull Street Race that was due to take place on Sunday 3 May.

This decision has been taken in line with the UK Government’s stance on tackling the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Greenpower’s priority at all times is the health, welfare and wellbeing of its participants, volunteers, staff and spectators. All entrants will be contacted in due course with a view to rescheduling the event to a later date

Greenpower continues to monitor the rapidly changing situation with COVID-19 closely and is following guidance both the UK Government and Motorsport UK.

Following on from a successful race in 2019, Greenpower in collaboration with Green Port Hull are making history by going one step further, holding the second electric closed road race in the UK. The event will be a triple header featuring all 3 of the Greenpower race categories; Formula Goblin (age 9-11), F24 (age 11-16), and F24+ (age 16-25).

The event will be staged in the Guildhall area of Hull on a city centre circuit with cars racing around a challenging track, and the Formula Goblin events and a STEM activity area taking place adjacently.

Due to the pioneering nature of the event, and the twisty narrow track, this event will only be open to Kit Car teams from the local area. Teams that wish to compete in the F24(+) Street Race will need to attend the Blyton Park test event to ensure that drivers have some experience before taking to the Hull city circuit, and for the majority of cars to have a full MOT scrutineering prior to the Street Race event.

Full details to be confirmed.
