TO INTRODUCE HUMBER STREET GALLERY’SPROGRAMME FOR 2019, WE ARE WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LIVERPOOL BIENNIAL TO PRESENT THREE INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS.
The artists on show are Annie Pootoogook (b. 1969, Kinngait, Nunavut, Canada, d. 2016 Ottowa, Ontario Canada) Suki Seokyeong Kang (b. 1977, Seoul, South Korea) and Inci Eviner (b. 1956, Turkey).
The exhibition marks a new direction of Humber Street Gallery’s artistic programme. “Place to Place” will display the work of three notable female artists from different global positions. It aims to introduce local and regional audiences to a complex and rich experience that will reveal our shared commonalities as individuals, despite our vastly different cultural backgrounds.
This exhibition is presented as part of the Liverpool Biennial touring programme, which brings artworks by international artists presented at the 2018 festival of contemporary art to spaces across the North of England.
