Her paintings for the Burton Constable Art Exhibition have been produced during the pandemic. I have always been interested in arts and crafts but since 2014 I focused on becoming a self taught artist. I was 2020 runner up in The Mail competition “Glorious Britain in Spring”. My theme was to show Light during Lockdown. This accolade gave me the confidence to explore my art further and have my own successful Open Studio.
I live in the beautiful village of Newbald in the Yorkshire Wolds. This has given me the opportunity to paint our beautiful Yorkshire county and beyond in a spontaneous way led by my feeling and interpretation of the view before me. I have the sea, coastline and countryside at my disposal which I frequently use for reference.
The tools I use are acrylic, watercolour, ink, paintbrushes, palette knife, sponge and whatever comes to hand to create the textures and moods I love to show in my work
