Yellow Day 2023

TRINITY SQUARE, Hull, HU1 2JJ

24 Jun 2023

10am - 12noon

Free

Family Friendly

‘Yellow Day’ was a project that I rolled out across Hull, – with the help of countless people from all corners of the aforementioned city – on Saturday June 24th 2017.
The day itself was created to help people from Hull to celebrate their love of their city, and it’s fascinating history, by means of wearing or creating something yellow.
I chose the colour yellow because it’s a psychologically uplifting colour, and it resonates spontaneity, optimism, positivity and energy. And I intended to link all of those elements with people’s love of Hull and its long and influential history. Furthermore, I chose yellow because it is a colour that is intrinsically linked with Hull, as this was the colour of the the three coronets that featured in Hull’s original coat of arms.
This year’s theme is Teddy Bears #yellowdayhull
