"From small community groups to large national institutions, our aim is to support organisations to build stronger communities. Hull 2017’s volunteering initiative is a fantastic chance for residents to change people’s perception of Hull while working to build more cohesive communities with better life prospects for local people. At the heart of the UK City of Culture project is local pride and we are proud to support Hull 2017 in that endeavour." – Philippa Charles, director, Garfield Weston Foundation
