Somewhere in a parallel universe little Alfie’s natural comedic performance skills were recognised by his doting parents who encouraged and developed his blossoming talent. After several years as a stage school brat Alfie’s angelic face was launched on stage and screen and the rest is history.
Meanwhile, in this universe Alfie Moore was told to stop messing about in class before being ‘encouraged’ into the grinding, grimy world of an apprenticeship in the Sheffield steelworks. When recession hit he traded steel for copper by joining Humberside Police.
Thirty years of shift-work, initially in the Sheffield steelworks and then as a copper on the beat (where he was punched in the face quite a lot), has left him with ‘a face for radio’. A face not so much ‘lived in’ as inhabited by a settlement of squatters with little regard to property maintenance and repair.
In his 40s a surprising career shift turned middle-aged Alfie from street cop to BBC radio star. But when TV fame beckoned could he grasp it or was he past it?
Following a sold out Edinburgh Fringe run, multi-award-winning and trail-blazing comedian, Paul Foot, is back on tour with the critically acclaimed Dissolve, his most personal, surprising and ground-breaking show ever.
Life is a stress: full of rushed breakfasts, angry people, internal conflict, and Jacob Rees-Mogg. But what happens when everything you thought was important – your problems, grievances against others, your very identity – simply disappears?
In the year 2022 AD something momentous changed for Paul, and in this show he will reveal how he discovered the secret of life on the outskirts of Lancaster.* Inevitably he does get distracted by King Tutankhamun, the House of Lords, Sir Cliff Richard, officious lollipop ladies and what Jesus might have achieved if he’d been a plumber.
As seen on Would I Lie To You?, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
*To be clear, Paul discovered the secret of life while he was located on the outskirts of Lancaster. Not the secret to living on the outskirts of Lancaster. There isn’t an answer to that.
Fresh from supporting Jack Whitehall on his 2023 UK arena tour, comedian Lloyd Griffith is back with a brand new show ‘Baroque and Roll’. It’s a big year for Lloyd, he’s turning 40 and with it, the impending midlife crisis – or ‘renaissance’ as he’s insisting it’s called; complete with body hair removal, head hair additions, teeth whitening and obviously the obligatory half marathon sign up. It’ll be funny and yes, there’ll be the odd song or two from that magnificent voice of his.
As seen on Ted Lasso (Apple), Nolly (ITV), Soccer AM (RIP), 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Can you beat the bookies (BBC), Live at The Comedy Store (Comedy Central), House of Games (BBC).
‘What is evident from the outset is that Griffith is both bursting with talent. He is a funny, charming, self-effacing comic who very obviously gains great joy from making people laugh. It is evident in the way he feeds off the audience’ – joe.co.uk
‘useful idiot’ – the guardian
‘Lloyd bounces off the audience and has everyone laughing along with him. This is an hour of uplifting stand-up that’ll have you smiling for days. A warm, relatable and hilarious show’ The Sunday Post
Since Miles’ last tour finished at The London Palladium in 2017, he’s been in The Full Monty on Disney Plus, The Durrells and Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? on ITV, as well as a heap of episodes of Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and Have I Got News For You. He’s made an award-winning radio series and he’s published a novel. But for Covid, he would have played a lead at the RSC. Hey ho. Nevertheless he’s done a play in the West End and played the Emperor of Austria and Europe in a Ridley Scott film.
Yet one sunny day in the middle of all this, he suddenly suffered a brain seizure. This led to the discovery of a tumour the size of a cherry tomato, and a rather pressing need to undergo major neurosurgery. Obviously, one doesn’t wish to make a big deal of it, but the experience has left him with a story to tell and a few things that he’d like to share with the room. So that’s exactly what he’s doing in his new show On I Bang – a tale about surprise, fear, luck, love and qualified medical practitioners.
Rob Newman’s epic stand-up show goes from cave paintings to car-free cities, by way of Imperial Rome’s chariot ban, Rapper’s Remorse, and the dance steps of Homo Ergaster.
Jimmy Carr will bring his new tour ‘Laughs Funny’ to Connexin Live for TWO shows to Connexin Live.
If you like fast-paced, edgy one-liners then get ready to be happy. Jimmy Carr is going back on tour with his brand-new show ‘Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny’.
Jimmy tells jokes, and jokes are like magnets. Jokes attract people, but they can also repel. Some people are repelled by Jimmy’s dark brand of comedy. This show is not for them.
But if it’s the kind of thing you like, then this is the kind of thing you’ll like.
Ladies and Gentleman! Gary Meikle is back yet again with another self-written, self-deprecating show to leave you all short of breath.
Last year “Papa” as he is becoming more commonly known, as he is the first-ever comedian worldwide without an agent (his choice) to be granted a full working visa for the USA and is keen to keep on showing why.
Gary’s tour this year promises to deliver. He will reluctantly share his newer role in life being a kept man, by the lady that kept him of course being his ever-growing smarter granddaughter, Gracie. Who intelligently but more essentially rips the p*** out of her Papa daily. A few stories to note are when she blatantly points out that he’s got “moobs”. She also embarrasses him by telling the truth about his tattoos to a stranger that he is trying to impress. She explains in detail how her Papa isn’t THAT famous and how she calls him a bad name without meaning it. There are literally too many Gracie and Papa stories to cover but as usual Gary will go of on tangents and delve into the workings of his on mind. He will tackle subjects such as: rejection issues of men and women, what it was like being a 14-year-old hormonal boy, how it is ok for men to be overtly feminine now, cold showers, mosquitoes on holiday and much more.
If you can guarantee one thing from Gary it is that he will work, his 5’8 ass off to make sure everyone that sees him live wants to come back for more. Your laughter makes up for the rejection he suffered in his earlier years, and he will thank you all individually if you choose to come along to his meet and greet, pre-show that he will be doing at every single show again.
Jason Manford is back with a new live show for 2024/5 – A Manford All Seasons. Kicking off on 10th November 2024 at Derby Arena, Jason will then play 17 shows at some of the UK’s biggest entertainment venues, culminating at Manchester’s hotly anticipated new multi-million pound Co-Op Arena, being the first comic to go on-sale there.
Jason’s last stand-up show, Like Me, saw him play an incredible 280 shows across the country, receiving standing ovations and rave reviews night after night. A Manford All Seasons is Jason’s latest comic offering that will feature his iconic ‘expert observational comedy’ (The Guardian) and is sure to be ‘comic gold’ (Mail on Sunday).
Jason said: ”People ask me what my favourite job is, acting, presenting, musicals etc. I love them all, but my favourite is still the privilege of doing a stand-up comedy. It’s just me, you, a microphone and a cracking venue. No cameras, no director, no viewing figures and no OFCOM! I can’t wait to see you again and have a good laugh at this mad world, it feels like it’s been ages.”
Salford-born Jason Manford is one of the UK’s leading multi-talented performers, with a career also spanning acting, presenting, and singing on both stage and screen.
Away from comedy, Jason has hosted many shows for the BBC and ITV including Unbeatable, Sunday Night at The Palladium, and The Royal Variety Performance. Earlier this year, he returned to judge the second series of ITV1’s Saturday night show Starstruck and hosted BBC

The multi-award-winning comedian is bouncing back with a brand-new live show. Starting in January 2024, Rhod will embark upon a full UK and Ireland tour playing over 100 dates nationwide and running until October 2025
Previously, Rhod was dealing with some pretty pungent life citrus, and an idiot called John. Little did he know that things were about to turn even more sour …. But Rhod’s not bitter; he’s bouncing back and feeling remarkably zesty.
Hilariously dark, passionate and way too personal, this is classic Gilbert, squeezing every last drop out of life’s latest curveballs … with a little help from an old adversary.
This new live show sees Rhod back on stage doing what he does best. Candid, hilarious and uplifting; it’s a show about navigating the dark bits and turning life’s giant grapefruits into something approaching lemonade.
