The Reluctant Teacher

Kevin Precious used to be a teacher. He enjoyed the teaching part; it was the stuff that goes with it that was a drag. So he left. A funny overview of the pitfalls and pratfalls that go with his former profession; with a bit of pedagogical stuff (ooh-er) thrown in for good measure. There will also be a top circuit act doing a preview as well to make it a lovely double bill of Edinburgh-bound shows. Keep an eye on this space.

Lloyd Griffith: One Tonne of Fun

Lloyd Griffith at Hull Truck Theatre

After Lloyd’s last tour was interrupted by ‘you know what’ and ended up lasting 8 years or so, he’s BACK with a brand-new, fresh stand-up show for 2023.

This is his biggest tour to date, and he is pumped / really needs you to come. Since school Lloyd has always been a show off, doing anything he can to make people laugh, and 20-odd years later, nothing’s changed. There’ll be his unique bag of stand up, dubious impressions, and obviously a sprinkling of his (incredible) singing. Lloyd Griffith is: One Tonne of Fun.

Introduction to Stand-up Comedy with Kevin Precious

Always fancied trying your hand at stand-up comedy but never got around to it? Ever watched a stand-up comedy performance and thought ‘I’d love to give that a go?’

The 7-week course is designed to be a comprehensive introduction to writing and performing stand-up comedy and culminates with each participant getting the opportunity to perform their first gig.

Participants will develop methods and techniques for generating self-authored comedy material; combined with the ability to deliver the material in front of a live audience.

Workshops are every Wed evening, 7-9pm, for six weeks.

Starting on Wed 25 Jan and ending Wed 1 Mar.

Week 7 is the Comedy Graduates performance in the Godber Studio.

Randy Feltface: Feltopia

In these uncertain times, you need a voice you can trust. Someone who’s traveled the world and knows how to fix it. Courage. Integrity. Other stuff. Vote 1 Randy Feltface.

Randy Feltface has spent the past eighteen years carving out a unique niche on the international comedy circuit. He was nominated for best comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, played sold out seasons in London and New York and featured several times at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. He made his US television debut as crowd favourite on NBC’s Bring The Funny, and his comedy specials have become pirated YouTube sensations. Politics seems like the natural next step.
