A comedy written by Peter Gordon in 1991, set in a suburban garden. While Alan attempts to tend his vegetable plot, his peace of mind is disturbed, not only by his impending fortieth birthday, but also by doubts about the fidelity of his wife, Claire.
The quiet of his garden initially provides some respite from his worries but this is soon disturbed by the ongoing squabbles of his neighbours, Jill and Dave. When a secret message falls into the wrong hands, a chain of events is set in motion which affects not only the two couples but also their friends, the well-meaning but inept Derek and the recently separated Sarah.
Alan’s concerns are temporarily eased by a surprise birthday party but the evening’s events only serve to throw the other relationships into turmoil, sowing the seeds of doubt for everybody!

You couldn’t make it up; surely the German Comedy Ambassador Henning Wehn hasn’t bosched out yet another new show?
And what’s he still doing here anyway? Well, his lack of transferable skills is what keeps him here and his belief that practise makes perfect is what keeps him going.
This show is a much needed call to arms. Listen, everyone: stop pondering and hand-wringing. Instead get on your bike and put your face to the grindstone!
“As subtle as Schumacher on Battiston,” some bloke on Twitter.
“Die entgueltige Teilung Europas – das ist mein Auftrag,” Henning himself.

Anarchic art clown and Fringe First winner Jamie Wood brings his acclaimed show O No! to Hull Truck Theatre on Friday 1 March. One of the most talked about shows of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015, O No! is a unique, magical experience that escapes definition and breaks boundaries.
In 1962 a woman met a man in a queue for a dance. She never wanted to get married. She was a freedom loving hippy who wanted to travel the world. Instead, she got pregnant. Sometimes she talks about regretting not carrying on dancing. In 1962 a woman called Yoko published 500 copies of a book of art instructions: poetic propositions that celebrate the power of the imagination. It inspired a man called John to leave his wife, his child and his band. To the outside world he seemed to have lost himself, or his mind.
Disarmingly confessional, playful and highly visual, the show invites the audience to delve into the complexity of human interactions while exploring the cost of intimacy. A psychedelic ride and a wonky homage to the woman damned for destroying the Beatles, O No! borrows Yoko Ono’s art instructions to ask whether falling in love is always catastrophic.
“Fractious, hilarious and punctuated by undeniable beauty” ★★★★★ The Stage
“…like being sucked down a rabbit hole full of joy.” ★★★★ Fest Magazine
“a warm, endearing show that sends up and pays homage to Ono” ★★★★ The Guardian
Tickets £12.50

The Dresser
This hilarious yet poignant play explores the relationship between two men who are inevitably, and at times reluctantly, co-dependent. As World War II rages, backstage in a provincial English theatre, an ageing, once-famous classical actor is troubled. Sir, the last in a dying breed of great English Shakespearean actors, is unwilling to take to the stage to deliver his renowned portrayal of King Lear. It falls to his faithful dresser Norman to rouse another great performance from him, to keep both the show and its star from falling apart.
The Dresser has been nominated for Olivier and Tony Awards as well as an Academy Award for the screenplay. Don’t miss this wonderful production of what is widely considered Ronald Harwood’s greatest play.
Across Britain from Shetland to Sark, and across the globe from Vancouver to Singapore, Simon Mayor and Hilary James have brought their special blend of dazzling musicianship.
If they have a speciality, it’s an ability to combine a truly diverse array of talents into a hugely entertaining stage show. There can’t be many performers who slide easily from a beautifully evocative Irish ballad into a mandolin and guitar version of Handel’s Arrival Of the Queen Of Sheba and then have the audience singing one of their own notorious comic songs, but it’s this wry humour and an easy, informal stage manner that holds it all together.
The duo’s musical diversity has led to an equally broad range of festival invitations from Henley Classical Music Festival (England) to the Stephen Leacock Humour Festival (Canada), the Vancouver Folk Festival and countless folk and Celtic festivals throughout the world.
Dave Gorman, the man behind Dave TV’s hit show Modern Life Is Goodish as well as Are You Dave Gorman? and Googlewhack Adventure, is back on the road with a brand new live show, With Great PowerPoint Comes Great ResponsibilityPoint.
As the title suggests, he’s bringing his laptop and projector screen with him so expect the ‘King of Powerpoint comedy’ (Guardian) to have more detailed analysis of those parts of life you’ve never stopped to think about before. Hey, not all heroes wear capes.
With support from Nick Doody.
After 50 years in show business Roy Chubby Brown has proven himself time and time again!

Starring Cheryl Fergison (EastEnders), Maureen Nolan (The Nolans), Rebecca Wheatley (Casualty) and Hilary O’Neil (ITV’s Copy Cats) this hysterical all-singing, all-dancing comedy is set in a department store, where four women with seemingly nothing in common, meet by chance and make fun of their woeful lives experiencing ‘The Change’ and their problems with forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats and chocolate binges.

Award winning comedian George Egg (aka ‘Anarchist Cook’) is a chef with a difference. After a health scare banned him from the family kitchen, George relocated to the garden shed where his imagination and resourcefulness led him to build an improvised kitchen there instead. Combining live cooking and laugh-out-loud comedy, George prepares a breakfast, a lunch and a dinner using the most unconventional of methods. Funny, inspiring and absurd, you’ll even get to taste the food at the end!
Jay Foreman is an award winning musical comedian whose songs have been heard on BBC Radio 4, The One Show and Dave Gorman’s UK/Ireland tour.
