JACK RHODES

Jack Rhodes is the northern working class every-man and not exactly your typical ‘magician’.

With a background in close-up magic and stand-up comedy, Jack has been creating ‘comedy, magic and nonsense’ videos on YouTube since 2020. Since then, he has amassed over 125 million views across social media and has firmly established his presence as a magician who doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Combining self-deprecation and trickery with an off-beat northern approach, Jack’s unique delivery of comedy and world-class sleight of hand dexterity ensures even non-magic fans will enjoy the show.

His distinct performance style crossed with a unique mix of jokes and skill will appeal to all walks of life and is a sure-fire hit.

And of course, let’s not forget our wonderful MC

The extremely funny, ever popular, award-riddled Jack  Gleadow – including last year’s Yorkshire Comedian of the Year and a previous, prestigious Leicester Mercury Best Comedy Act.

“One of the most unique performers on the UK comedy circuit today.”

Nick Mohammed is Mr. Swallow: Show Pony

After a sell-out 2023 UK tour and extended run in London’s West End, Taskmaster loser Nick Mohammed returns as his critically acclaimed alter-ego Mr. Swallow with a brand-new show.

Show Pony has been described by Mr. Swallow as “payback for everyone who didn’t come to the last tour” and will cover everything from not having his own sitcom to not having his own sitcom… and everything in between (critical race theory). As per – expect magic, music and a whole load of brand-new mistakes.

Nick Mohammed is one of the UK’s most celebrated comedians, actors and writers. Nick has received feverish critical acclaim for his previous Mr. Swallow shows Dracula, Houdini and A Christmas Carol-ish… alongside his first UK tour The Very Best & Worst of Mr. Swallow. Mr. Swallow has appeared in Dictionary Corner on numerous episodes of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, with clips of his performances quickly going viral, along with entertaining the great and the good at the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards, with frankly terrifying results!

Nick plays Nate in Apple TV’s hit multi award-winning series Ted Lasso, for which he was nominated twice for Outstanding Supporting Actor at the Emmy Awards. He has recently been seen starring in Sally Wainwright’s Renegade Nell (Disney+) and Steven Moffat’s Douglas Is Cancelled (ITV). Nick created, wrote, and starred (alongside David Schwimmer) in his own Sky TV hit show Intelligence. Other appearances include Stath Lets Flats (Channel 4), Inside No. 9 (BBC), This Time with Alan Partridge (BBC), and he’ll soon be seen starring alongside Bryce Dallas Howard and Orlando Bloom in Prime Video’s Deep Cover. He was one of the worst contestants in the history of Channel 4’s Taskmaster.

The Incurable Optimist

Paul Mayhew-Archer has been making audiences laugh for 45 years.

He produced several series of the Radio Four Classic “I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue” and co-wrote with Richard Curtis the multi-award-winning and much-loved sitcom “The Vicar Of Dibley”. He also worked with Richard again to adapt Roald Dahl’s “Esio Trot” starring Judi Dench and Dustin Hoffman.

Fourteen years ago, Paul was told he had Parkinson’s and he decided to carry on laughing. He started doing jokes about his condition at fundraising events at The Royal Albert Hall and London’s Comedy Store. Later he made a BBC Documentary “Parkinson’s: The Funny Side” and won the Grierson Award for Best Documentary Presenter of The Year. Then in 2023 he and five friends with Parkinson’s – the presenters Jeremy Paxman, Rory Cellan-Jones, Mark Mardell and Gillian Lacey-Solymar, and the Judge Nick Mostyn – got together to make a podcast called “Movers and Shakers” which has become more popular and influential than any of them thought possible and won the Broadcasting Press Guild’s Podcast of The Year Award.

Paul also travels around the country performing his one-man show “Incurable Optimist”. It’s show that’s full of funny stories about his career and his condition and he does it to raise awareness of Parkinson’s, to raise money for local Parkies and because he absolutely loves hearing people laugh.

Oh… he’s thrilled to be coming to Hull.
