Placard Making Workshop with Maddie Morris

What would you say if you knew the world would listen?
In this LGBTQ+ workshop, we will answer that question through creating placards to be displayed at Ferens Art Gallery.

This intergenerational workshop is a chance to work with our current artist in residence Maddie Morris.

Free, Drop in. Materials will be provided.
Held in the new Create Gallery upstairs in the Ferens Art Gallery, 2pm – 4pm.

Scrap Sea Monsters – Relaxed Event

​A quiet craft session designed for people who are disabled, neurodivergent or experience anxiety.

This is a quiet craft session with limited numbers, designed for people who are disabled, neurodivergent or experience anxiety, who would find it difficult to attend Hull Maritime’s drop-in family craft sessions. In the session, families can have a go at scrap modelling themed around sea monsters.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-booking is essential, and places are limited. Please book your space.

Scrap Sea Monsters

Let your imagination go wild and create your very own scrap sea monster from a selection of recycled materials.  This is a drop-in, family event open to all ages. No need to book, just turn up.

Willow Weaving – Willow Deer

Time: 10am – 4pm

Suitable for beginners or for those with some willow weaving experience. I will support you throughout the day to create your willow sculpture.

Willow weaving is both great fun and therapeutic.

All materials and refreshments are included on the day. Please bring your lunch or there is a cafe on site.

Please note:

  • Willow weaving requires a large amount of manual dexterity in your hands.
  • The venue room is upstairs with no disabled access.

A fun printmaking workshop re-purposing LEGO tiles to create seaside themed artworks.

Join local print artists Lucy & Wendy of What If We Create, for a fun printmaking workshop re-purposing LEGO tiles to create seaside themed artworks.

We will provide all materials and you will be able to take your creations home.

The ink we use for this workshop is washable however please wear suitable clothing as it may stain fabrics, we will provide aprons but advise you to roll up your sleeves.

The Bob Ross Happy Little Paint Along

Hi there you little trees, this event isn’t a mistake, just a happy little accident we’ve put together for you.

Immerse yourselves in a cute little paint along played on the big screen, with everyone’s favourite artist (sorry Buchanan) Bob Ross.

No need to worry about supplies, we’ve got that covered.

Paints, Canvas and atmosphere provided. Coffee & themed cocktails available, with prizes to the best effort (voted by our bar staff).

We will be playing the episodes on our projector for you to join in.
