Meat Loaf

Anything For Love – The Meat Loaf Story

Critically acclaimed Steve Steinman brings you his smash hit production Anything For Love – The Meat Loaf Story: It’s all about the music at Bonus Arena.

For over 30 years Steve Steinman has been filling theatres and concert halls worldwide with his incredible production shows. Following his 2021 UK sell out tour Steve returns to the Bonus Arena, Hull performing over 25 of Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman’s greatest hits.

With an incredible stage set, 10-piece live band featuring the Bad For Good Rock Orchestra, along with the amazing special guest star Lorraine Crosby, the female lead vocalist on Meat Loaf’s Grammy Award winning song “I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)”.

Amongst her many achievements Lorraine can also be credited for her amazing vocals on the hit No 1 album Bat Out Of Hell II – Back Into Hell. Lorraine is well known for her live performances where many superstars, including Bonnie Tyler, have joined her on stage.

The show will have you up on your feet dancing and singing out loud to some of Meat Loaf’s greatest hits including – Anything For Love – Bat Out Of Hell – Paradise By The Dashboard Light – Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth – Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad – Dead Ringer For Love and many, many more.

Big Fish

Big Fish is a musical with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and book by John August. It is based on Daniel Wallace’s 1998 novel, Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions, and the 2003 film Big Fish written by John August and directed by Tim Burton.
Big Fish revolves around the relationship between Edward Bloom, a travelling salesman, and his adult son Will, who looks for what is behind his father’s tall stories.
Following on from their success with Dracula The Musical in 2020, Director Adam Sperring and Park Street’s very own musical theatre company ‘TheatreWorks’ brings you this larger than life broadway musical, a Father’s story, a son’s journey, life’s epic adventure.

Ruby and the Vinyl

In Ruby’s Pop-Up record and vintage clothes shop magical things are happening, people are falling in love, finding themselves, sorting their lives and restyling their look! When Lily meets Tom on a wet afternoon they could never have imagined where their relationship would go, from perfect strangers to inseparable lovers. But is everything quite as it seems? Ruby’s shop is an oasis of calm in a chaotic universe, but eventually you have to step back outside, step up and face the chaos!

Featuring BBC supporting artist Ruby Mackintosh and her hypnotic vocals, ‘Ruby and the Vinyl’ is a new musical with a vintage heart.

Rent

The Wizard of Oz

After a terrific trio of shows earlier this year at Live on the lawn, Gary Star Pantomimes returns with the perfect Halloween family favourite: The Wizard of Oz!

Join Dorothy in the magical land of Oz, as she follows the yellow brick road to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard. On route she’ll encounter a Scarecrow which needs a brain, a Tin Man with a missing heart and a Cowardly Lion who craves courage!

Watch out for the Wicked Witch of the West who’ll be up to her old tricks in trying to spoil the fun for Dorothy and her new friends.

Elf: The Musical

Based on the hit movie starring Will Farrell, this spectacular heart-warming story follows the fortunes of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth.

With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

This festive treat features a fantastic flying sleigh, twenty feet high growing candy canes, a giant LED screen with Pixar style animated backgrounds, and amazing aerial stunts.

It’s the feel-good family show guaranteed to be good for everyone’s Elf.

BEDKNOBS & BROOMSTICKS

Enter a world of magic and fantasy as Disney’s classic movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks makes its world premiere as an exciting new stage musical. When three orphaned children are evacuated from wartime London to live with trainee witch Eglantine Price, they have no idea what lies ahead.

Featuring the original songs by the legendary Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ), this enchanting production promises to be a magical adventure for the whole family.

 

THE SHOW WILL GO ON

After a year that has been devastating for local theatre One Off Productions are back with a fabulous musical theatre concert – The Show Will Go On!

The production will see some of the top local performers take to the stage to bring you a wonderful selection of Musical Theatre favourites. Featuring many solos and duets and an ensemble of over 40 hits from The Lion King, Hamilton, Les Miserables, Dreamgirls, Starlight Express, Miss Saigon, Rent, Grease 2, Hairspray and Jersey Boys, as well as songs from Avenue Q , Dear Evan Hanson, Follies and more.

One Off Productions is one of the most successful and popular local theatre companies. There first production at Hull New Theatre was The Witches of Eastwick back in 2007 and they were the final musical – White Christmas – before the theatre closed for it’s refurbishment. They brought audiences the sell out production of The Full Monty and the regional amateur premiere of Calendar Girls, as well as hugely acclaimed productions of The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Me and My Girl and The King and I.
