Operation Mincemeat

Operation Mincemeat is the 2024 Olivier Award-winning Best New Musical. It’s London’s biggest hit with 77 five-star reviews making it the best-reviewed show in West End history. Now also a Tony-nominated Best Musical on Broadway!

The year is 1943 and right now we’re losing the war. Luckily, we’re
about to gamble all our futures on a stolen corpse. Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II.

Bursting at the seams with the kind of chaos you couldn’t invent, the question is: how did a dead body, a fake love letter, and – of all people – Ian Fleming come together to wrong-foot Hitler?

“A little show with a very big future.”
David Benedict, Variety

“The Brits have made the year’s funniest musical”
Peter Marks, The Washington Post

“A miraculous musical that tells the entire story in a kind of accelerated farce that is part Mel Brooks, part SIX, part Hamilton with a side order of One Man, Two Guvnors.” Neil Norman, The Daily Mirror

“Hilarious tale makes Mincemeat out of its rivals… Before curtain I talked to a fan seeing this for the seventh time. I wondered why anyone would see the same show seven times. Now I know.” Neil Armstrong, The Mail On Sunday

Trigger warnings: Flashing lights, strobe effects, theatrical haze, siren sound effects, and loud music.

Grease

It’s 1959, and Rydell High School’s senior class is in rare form. The too-cool-for-school “Burger Palace Boys” are stealing hubcaps and acting tough and their gum-snapping chain-smoking “Pink Ladies” are looking hot in bobby sox and pedal pushers. The 1950s high school dream is about to explode in this rollicking musical that is both an homage to the idealism to the fifties and a satire of high schoolers’ age-old desire to be rebellious, provocative and rebellious.

At the heart of the story is the romance between hot-rodding gangster Danny Zuko and the sweet new girl in town, Sandy Dumbrowski. They had a secret romance in summer, but now back in the context of school, peer-pressure and cliques make their love a bit more complicated. The whole gang sings and dances around Danny and Sandy’s romance, through hit songs such as “Greased Lightnin”, “We Go Together” and “Grease is the Word”. Can Danny maintain his cool dude status and still make demure Sandy his girl?
