Come join our LGBTQ+ Book Club at Hull Central Library.

It’s a space to discuss diverse literature and connect with fellow bookworms in the community. Whether you’re a queer lit aficionado or just starting to explore LGBTQ+ themes in books, all people 18 and over are welcome. Drop by for stimulating conversations and a friendly atmosphere. Let’s celebrate representation in literature together! See you at the next meeting!

Saturday 29 March – 11:15 – 12:45pm

We’re reading Nightwood by Djuna Barnes

Nightwood tells the stories of the love-lives of a group of American expats and Europeans in Paris in the 1920s – an exotic, night-time underworld, eccentric, seedy and beautiful. A modernist masterpiece, and one of the earliest novels to explicitly portray homosexuality.

Saturday 26 April – 11:15 – 12:45pm

We’re reading Belladonna by Anbara Salam

Belladonna is a hypnotizing coming-of age story set against the stunning backdrop of rural Northern Italy. Anbara Salam tells a story of friendship and obsession, desire and betrayal, and the lies we tell in order to belong.

All books can be borrowed from the library but please be aware numbers are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
