After the success of Beverley Betrayal last year, Catherine Derrick brings three short drama comedy plays to the theatre.
These plays take place in and near Beverley.

Family Tree
Jackie and Steve’s new next door neighbours Norman and Sandra are always complaining. To make matters worse, Steve is a Hull FC fan and Norman is a Hull Kingston Rovers fan. When Jackie receives an unexpected inheritance, envious Jackie decides to trace her family tree in the hope of finding nobility and money. Not everything works out as planned.
Not In My Back Yard
Four cottage owners in a village near Beverley hope to buy the field behind their cottages and extend their gardens to stop a factory being built. Julie, a beautician, wants to build a beauty studio, Neil, a musician wants to build a music studio, penniless Greg wants to build a shed for his bike and Stella, a councillor wants to build a barbeque area. They all get more than they bargained for!
For The Love of Money
Grace is a wealthy old lady and all alone in the world. Geoff her gardener and his wife Sue are plotting to inherit her money when she dies. Is Grace as naive as they think she is and who is manipulating who? There are some twists and turns in this comedy drama.
Venue Details
EAST RIDING THEATRE IS A COMMUNITY THEATRE, BASED IN BEVERLEY. Established in 2014, the venue was created from a former Victorian chapel and it oifers an intimate space for enjoying many types of entertainment, with a 200 seat auditorium and fully licensed Café Bar. The year-round programme of entertainment, includes theatre, music, comedy, spoken word and much more. Regular exhibitions of art are displayed within the Theatre Gallery. It is also a venue that is often used for festivals and other events. OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF OUR THEATRE Without our Volunteers we would not have a theatre. They are passionate about the entertainment programme that we deliver and dedicated in making a contribution to our day-to-day activities throughout all areas of the theatre – whether it be welcoming our audience front-of-house, selling tickets in the box office, serving drink and food in our café bar, helping with maintenance, keeping the theatre clean or one of many other roles!
