Mambo Jambo with Joe Martin – Three Musical Adventurers
Eclectic genre-defying Duo, Mambo Jambo, Pete and Frankie, plus their wonderful array of instruments, make a welcome return to East Riding Theatre.
This time they’re joined by violinist extraordinaire, Joe ‘Hotbow’ Martin for spontaneous, joyful music making and a romp across genres.; Some may remember Joe from when he was fronting the legendary Hull band Ain’t Misbehavin’ and leading them to perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Mambo Jambo are known locally for their lively, uplifting shows that whisk the audience off on shared musical adventures; They also captivate audiences with their wonderful array of instruments; Pete on guitar, cuban traditional guitar (tres), banjo, accordion, vocals & percussion, and Frankie on sax, flute clarinet, guitar, vocals. She’ll be bringing a few unusual instruments to the concert as well!.
When they get together with Joe the three of them really take off, with infectious energy! Expect all sorts of musical wildness, a mash-up of some swing, some Latin American, Cajun, Eastern European, some folky Bluegrass… plus two of their original pieces that the three of them wrote together for last year’s ‘Out Of The Box’ and Hull Jazz Festival.
“An absolute treat and a delight, and you can tell all three of them feel the same way about playing together!”
