On the outskirts of a city in Chad, Amina lives with her only daughter, 15-year-old Maria. When Amina learns Maria is pregnant and wants to have an abortion, her already fragile world collapses. In a country where abortion is morally condemned and prohibited by law, they face a seemingly impossible situation. Together they must tackle the obstacles of religious oppression, familial disownment, backstreet medical services and police harassment.
