Come and join us at Hull Minster for the World Autism Awareness Day on Tuesday 2nd April 2025 from 11.30 – 1.30pm.
What does Autism look and feel like?
Autism is a hidden disability. While it may not always be immediately apparent to others, it profoundly impacts the lives of those who experience it. Individuals with autism often face unique challenges related to communication, social interaction, sensory processing, and understanding social cues. These difficulties are not always visible on the surface, making autism a hidden aspect of their identity.
We are hosting a Barefoot Challenge walk around the Nave to celebrate people with Autism and those who love and support them.
You do not have to be barefooted if you do not wish to, just come and join us, help raise awareness and celebrate Hull Minster’s diverse staff and visitors
There will be people at the event who are autistic who will be happy to answer any questions you may have and also people who are carers.
There will also be a sensory area along with sensory toys for you to explore.
Wayne Dixon author of The Perception Divide: Me, You and Autism will be in attendance to answer your questions
