Join Kandace Chimbiri, author of The Story of Afro hair, 5,000 years of history, fashion and styles, for a collage workshop exploring the global history of afro hair styling.

 

Kandace will give a short talk on the history behind the book. Then, take part in a collage-making activity and take home your creation.

 

For ages 8 to 12. Every child must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Kandace Chimbiri is an author, speaker and educator. She primarily writes Black history books for children and young readers; she has also written for film, published articles and contributed to a Black British history anthology. She is the author of The Story of the Windrush; The Story of Afro Hair, 5,000 Years of History, Fashion and Styles; The Story of Britain’s Black Nurses; and The Story of Britain’s Black Airmen.
