It’s that time of year again when all the kids are getting ready to finish the school year, and parents are in a mad scramble to find activities for the kids to get stuck into! Luckily, Healthy Holidays Hull is here to give fantastic helping hand!
Healthy Holidays is part of the holiday activities and food (HAF) programme, and provides healthy meals, enriching activities, and free childcare places to children from low-income families, benefiting their health, wellbeing and learning. Since 2022, the HAF programme has provided 15.6 million HAF days to children and young people in this country. Across the 2023 to 2024 academic year, almost 5 million HAF days were provided during winter, Easter, and summer delivery.
This year, they’re back again with a stellar FREE Summer Programme of events, with a wide variety of activities and opportunities for families and children alike to get involved!
Here’s a snapshot of a few of our favourites:
Zebfest – Thursday 24th July 2:30pm – 6:30pm
Following on the success of last years, this special festival just for 11 – 16 year olds once again brings street art, a Tik Tok video set for filming, a clothes swap, a silent disco and a photo booth! There’s even a smoothie bike and pizza making on offer in this fab festival, set in the confines of Zebedee’s Yard!
Play Days
There’s two play days at Alderman Kneeshaw Park and Pickering Park (6th and 20th August respectively, 11am – 3pm), where you can expect the perfect place for a picnic, whilst taking part in loads of fun activities for all the family!
Activities for Kids
There’s a metric tonne of activities across the city for kids to get involved with! From fishing and DJ skills, to dodgeball, dance, skateboarding, acting and SO much more!
