Hull was recently voted one of the top 10 places to live by the Sunday Times and with very good reason! Our amazing city has got it all – the old and historic, the new and modern and everything in between.
In celebration of Hull being one of the coolest places to live, this summer we want to see your favourite parts of the city centre. Using a smartphone or digital camera, your challenge (should you choose to accept it) is to explore our amazing city and take lots of pictures as you go.
After the summer holidays in September we’re planning to hold an exhibition of some of the pictures taken during the challenge. So if you get involved your image of Hull could be part of this for everyone to see and enjoy! Don’t worry if your picture doesn’t get chosen, any image submitted to the challenge will feature in our online gallery.
The challenge is open to all ages and capabilities – so even if you’ve never taken a picture before you can have a go!
Want to join in the fun? Here’s how to get involved.
Simply head out into Hull city centre armed with a smartphone or digital camera and get snapping!
We’ve identified 10 fantastic locations for you to explore to take pictures.
1. Fruit Market and The Deep
2. Museums Quarter and Hepworth’s Arcade
3. Land of Green Ginger and Whitefriargate
4. Alfred Gelder Street
5. The Marina
6. Ferensway (St Stephens, Hull Truck Theatre, Prospect Centre)
7. Princes Quay and Princes Dock Street
8. Paragon Arcade
9. Albion Street / Kingston Square
10. King Edward Street / Queen Victoria Square
Don’t be afraid to take more unusual pictures. You might want to think about looking up at the rooftops or down at some paving, take a shot of a really interesting doorway or some brickwork with a difference.
We want to you to let your imaginations run wild so we can see Hull through your eyes!
