This introductory workshop is for anyone who wants to know more about the history of crime, crime records, and the secrets of finding, interpreting and using criminal records to help research local and family history.
A criminal ancestor is anyone who historically encountered the criminal justice system – whether they were the accused, victims, witnesses, prisoners, police and prison officers.
This workshop will help the public learn how to use historical crime, policing and punishment records in searching for their relatives.
