Avenues Open Gardens is an urban open gardens event that takes place in the HU5 area of Hull over two Sunday afternoons in late June / July every year.
There are usually around 40 private gardens open plus allotments, so there is typically something of interest to every gardener.
The gardens show a diversity of gardening styles complimented by the interesting and unique architecture of the buildings. Many gardens are large extending to 150ft with original features such as stable blocks and outhouses.
The event is complimented by outdoor music and theatre and runs from 13:00 to 17:00 each day. Many houses also offer a wide range of refreshments. There are, of course plants for sale.
Proceeds are for Dove House and Rooted in Hull.
