In this one-day workshop we will be making a wrap-around leather journal. We shall start by folding and piercing the blank pages which will be roughly A5 size. Then we shall prepare the leather and sew the book with linen thread. Finally we shall attach a leather thong closure for the journal.
All materials and detailed hand-out notes are provided, along with use of the tools required to complete the binding.
Your tutor will be local professional bookbinder, Glenn Malkin.

Venue Details
The Hull ScrapStore was set up in 1988 and is run by a small team of staff and dedicated volunteers. Providing scrap materials to members, who work with children and young people, the organisation also facilitates a number of creative art and play workshops in local schools, community groups and at open events.
