WE’RE BACK! Kingston Swing are most pleased to announce their TENTH annual Lindy Hop weekender, Hullzapoppin’ 2025, to be held on the last weekend in May (the Bank Holiday weekend!)! ADJUST YOUR DIARIES NOW!!!
Following on from our overly relaxing year off, we’re thrilled to bits to be returning to what is now the official home of Hullzapoppin’, the swankiest, glitziest and bestest venues in the whole city and beyond; Hull City Hall and Hull Guildhall, plus others!
Featuring a truly International line up of teachers from France, the USA, Mozambique, Singapore, Spain, the UK and more, we’re planning on a full extended weekend of Lindy Hop and vernacular Jazz mayhem including three social dances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night in the ridiculously splendid Guildhall AND Hull City Hall, which boasts the biggest and best sprung dance floor in the region. Featuring live music from the area’s best bands plus the finest DJs, teachers cabaret on the Saturday and a themed sartorially elegant gin-and-cake-fest taking the form of some sort of crazed teadance which we trust will rival the past ten year’s Sunday cake-overkill sessions. INCLUDING the usual deranged after parties that have made our name legend, PLUS round seven of our gloriously received and recklessly dangerous Demolition Aerials competition (rules? What rules?). There’ll also be three days of workshops and tasters at FIVE Lindy levels PLUS a solo Jazz stream PLUS… wait for it… the return of the legendary AERIALS STREAM!!?!
Plus a whole bunch of tasters in all the things you love and didn’t even know you loved, from a teacher line up including (and in no particular order)…
Hector Artal and Sonia Ortega (SP)
Corina Kwami (USA)
Roser Ros and Marcos Leon (SP)
Tatiana Udry and Sinclair Ang (FR, SGP)
Trisha Sewell and Carlos Machava (UK, MZ)
Hugo Marty and Cécile Carton (FR)
Liane Wergen and Ionuț Băjescu (DE, ROU)
Plus even yet more to be confirmed.
All hosted in the sprawling splendour of Hull City Centre’s most prestigious of venues.
Provisionally priced at a mere £160 per person, ticket cost includes all workshops, tasters, socials, as well as as much cake as you can shake a stick at on Sunday’s tea dance. Anyone with the stamina remaining who is able to stretch it into a four day event will be pleased to hear that our regular Monday night class and social will go ahead on the Monday at the Marist Hall on Cottingham Road, incorporating the Hullzapoppin’ 2025 farewell dance.
Social passes will become available nearer the time.
