Jessica Morris will lead you through the enjoyment of learning to throw on the potter’s wheel.
Day 1: An introduction to the basics of working on the wheel, focussing on throwing a cylinder.
Day 2: Opening out and developing your cylinder into a bowl. You will make a small collection of thrown work to fettle, finesse and trim.
Day 3: Trim, handle, carve and refine, add slip decoration.
You will be able to choose 4 pots each to be fired and glazed, any extras that you’d like to keep will be at a further cost. We will break at 12pm each day, please bring a packed lunch. Please wear closed toe shoes and have fingernails cut short.
Includes all materials and bisque firing.
About the Artist:
Jessica Morris is a ceramic artist creating wheel thrown porcelain pieces enriched with vibrant underglazes. Her work explores movement and flow, capturing a sense of rhythm and spontaneity in both functional and sculptural forms. Alongside her studio practice, Jessica shares her love for ceramics through teaching and encouraging others to explore the materials’ endless possibilities.
Our studio is on the first floor accessible via stairs (no lift).
