This session is ticketed and limited numbers to make sure it’s a relaxed and quiet viewing for autistic visitors, visitors with dementia and people who might experience anxiety about visiting in busy periods.
The gallery will have sounds turned down and we will have a quiet room available. A Visual Story and sensory resources such as ear defenders are available are available to borrow.
The gallery will reopen to the public at 11am but the sounds will remain turned down until 12pm.

The Ferens has a magnificent collection of paintings and sculptures, including works by European Old Masters, portraiture, marine painting, and modern and contemporary British art. Highlights include masterpieces by Lorenzetti, Frans Hals, Antonio Canaletto, Frederick Leighton, Stanley Spencer, David Hockney, Helen Chadwick and Gillian Wearing.
