Who’s she?
The Cat’s Mother is an eclectic 8 piece of Hull-based seasoned musicians. This studio project has evolved from the emotive songwriting of Sarah Lazenby (MEEK). It has been tastefully produced at Yuba Studio and features beautiful string quartet and quintet arrangements by Sally Currie (The Dyr Sister). Also performing on viola, she is joined by Rebecca Draper (violin), Vivienne Blackledge (cello) and Sarah Shiels (double bass).
This orchestral atmosphere, both combining and contrasting with a live electric band, takes experienced members of Hull’s Indie/Rock scene (Lydia Palmeira; Bass, Martin Hines; Piano & Guitar, and Lee Drinkall; drums) out of their natural habitat and comfort zone for a unique and powerful musical performance that will make you feel.
Their showcase at Social, (Humber Street, Hull) on Friday 31st May 2024 will see The Cat’s Mother unveiling tracks from their forthcoming album “Doing As You’re Told”.
With support from highly esteemed local cat mother Emma Fee, this is set to be a special evening not to be missed!
